Boosting Cardiovascular Health

Improved Circulation

Regular treadmill workouts can increase heart rate effectively, promoting better blood circulation throughout the body. This enhanced circulation ensures that oxygen and nutrients are efficiently delivered to various tissues and organs.

Strengthened Heart Muscles

Engaging in consistent treadmill exercises helps strengthen heart muscles, making the heart more efficient at pumping blood. This increased efficiency reduces the workload on the heart during daily activities, contributing to overall cardiovascular health.

Reduced Risk of Heart Diseases

One of the significant benefits of treadmill exercise is its ability to lower the risk of heart diseases and stroke. By maintaining an active lifestyle and incorporating regular treadmill sessions into your routine, you can significantly improve your cardiovascular health and reduce the chances of developing heart-related issues.

Alleviating Joint Discomfort

Reduce Impact

Treadmills minimise stress on joints compared to outdoor running, reducing the risk of injury and discomfort.

Enhance Flexibility

Regular treadmill use can enhance joint flexibility and mobility, aiding in overall joint health and function.

Minimise Stress

The cushioned surface of treadmills helps minimise stress on the knees, hips, and ankles, making it an ideal choice for individuals with joint issues.

Enhancing Glucose and Cholesterol Levels

Regulating Blood Sugar Levels

Maintaining a regular treadmill exercise routine can significantly regulate blood sugar levels, especially beneficial for individuals with diabetes. By engaging in consistent physical activity, the body becomes more efficient at utilising glucose, leading to improved overall blood sugar control.

Improving Cholesterol Profile

Regular treadmill workouts have been shown to have a positive impact on cholesterol levels by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and simultaneously increasing good cholesterol (HDL). This dual effect helps in reducing the risk of heart disease and other cardiovascular issues, contributing to better overall health outcomes.

Enhancing Insulin Sensitivity

One of the key benefits of treadmill exercise is its ability to improve insulin sensitivity, which plays a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels effectively. Enhanced insulin sensitivity allows cells to absorb glucose more effectively, aiding in better glucose control and reducing the risk of insulin resistance-related complications.

Mental Focus and Clarity Benefits

Boost Cognitive

Regular treadmill exercise can boost cognitive function, improving memory and attention span. The increased blood flow to the brain enhances overall brain health.

Enhance Concentration

By engaging in treadmill workouts, individuals can enhance their concentration levels, leading to improved productivity in daily tasks. The heightened focus can result in better performance at work or studies.

Mood Enhancement

Treadmill sessions trigger the release of endorphins, often referred to as 'feel-good' hormones, promoting a mood lift and reducing stress levels. This natural stress relief mechanism positively impacts mental well-being.

Improving Posture and Core Strength

Engage Core Muscles

Engage core muscles while using a treadmill to improve stability and balance. This engagement helps in maintaining proper posture alignment during walking or running sessions.

Correct Posture Alignment

Treadmill walking or running can help correct posture alignment by strengthening the core muscles. It promotes a straight back, shoulders pulled back, and head held high, reducing the strain on the neck and lower back.

Strengthen Back Muscles

Regular treadmill use strengthens back muscles, which is crucial for alleviating back pain caused by poor posture or prolonged sitting. By improving core strength, individuals can experience reduced discomfort and better spinal support.

Tips for Integrating Treadmill Workouts

Set Goals

Setting achievable fitness goals is crucial for motivation and tracking progress. Whether aiming to increase endurance, burn calories, or improve overall health, clear objectives keep you focused during treadmill workouts.

Vary Speed and Incline

To avoid hitting a workout plateau, vary the speed and incline regularly. Changing these factors challenges different muscle groups and prevents your body from adapting to the routine, ensuring continuous improvement in fitness levels.

Incorporate Interval Training

Incorporating interval training into your treadmill workouts can significantly boost calorie burn and improve cardiovascular fitness. Alternating between high-intensity intervals and recovery periods not only increases the effectiveness of your workouts but also adds variety to prevent boredom.

Time Management for Home Office Fitness

Break Time

Plan your treadmill sessions strategically, such as during breaks or before/after work hours. This maximises productivity without compromising on exercise routines. Incorporating short bursts of physical activity can boost energy levels and focus throughout the day.

Dual Productivity

Integrate standing desks or treadmill desks into your home office setup to merge work responsibilities with physical activity seamlessly. This innovative approach not only enhances fitness levels but also improves concentration and overall well-being.

Multitasking Efficiency

Optimise your time by combining work tasks like calls or reading with walking on the treadmill. This multitasking strategy allows you to fulfil professional obligations while staying physically active, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Motivation Techniques for Consistent Exercise

Reward Yourself

After completing your treadmill workouts, treat yourself to something you enjoy, like a healthy snack or a relaxing bath. This positive reinforcement can motivate you to stick to your workout routine.

Find a Workout Buddy

Pairing up with a friend for workouts can provide the accountability and encouragement needed to stay consistent. Having someone to share your fitness journey with makes exercise more enjoyable and helps you reach your fitness goals.

Track Progress

Monitoring your achievements, no matter how small, is crucial for staying motivated. Use apps or journals to track your physical activity and celebrate milestones along the way. This boosts confidence and keeps you engaged in your routine.

Endurance SPT 1 year ownership review

This review is for the Endurance SPT after 1 year of ownership.

I'll start by saying the online support prior to delivery was excellent. Our treadmill was purchased just prior to Christmas 2023 whilst on sale through Endurance's official Amazon shop. We were departing for holidays within a few days and were in the predicament of possibly having the treadmill delivered whilst being away. We reached out and their support was very good and responsive, and were able to organise from memory a next day delivery (we live in Sydney).

The treadmill is a medium size and weight, giving it a solid enough feel in build quality and stability, however remaining light enough to be easily moved around by myself or wife if needed. As other reviews may have mentioned, set up may be quite difficult if done alone, however instructions and steps are itself easy.

Here are my likes, dislikes, and observations from the last year of ownership.

Likes:
User interface - simple as a treadmill should be with large buttons as well as controls on the handles
Running belt - made of a hard-wearing plastic material which provides plenty of grip however also won't cause friction burns on intermittent skin contact (safer with children)
Form factor - Being able to fold up the treadmill and move it around the house is great
Speed and incline options - More than enough settings for 99% of the population
Finish - The materials used and the coatings on the frame are good quality and show almost no wear from a year of use

Dislikes:
Heartrate sensors - Located on the handles, these sensors are probably only for those continuously walking. They take too long to establish a reading (e.g. walking after conducting a run)
Lack of waterproofing - This may sound silly, however I myself generate a lot of sweat during a run, and there are a couple vulnerable points on the treadmill where water/sweat may ingress. These include the speed/incline adjustment buttons on the handles, the usb port, and the speakers. This vulnerability is serious enough that even after a wipe down after every use, I have had an instance where the treadmill was unable to turn on for multiple days in a row due to this. To combat this I now have to drape a towel over the whole upper section of the treadmill when in use by myself.

Other observations:
Size of the track - I am 175cm tall and find the track a perfectly adequate size for running. I would still say the track size does initially take getting used to and you will find yourself consciously aware of the sides and end of the track, however this is no longer a factor.
Somewhat limited quick-select speeds - I think more space on the interface should be dedicated to adjusting the speed and less controlling the incline. Quick-select buttons on the screen interface only go up in speeds of 2km/h up to 10km/h which can mean constantly holding down the increase button for a short while if you want to run at speeds greater than 10km/h (only increases in increments of 0.1km/h per press).
Pricing - I think at the time whilst on sale, this treadmill was a very good purchase and great value, however whilst writing this review there are currently some other comparable treadmills which I would say are very competitively priced.
